Mid Century Industrial Foundry Pattern Mould (7)
This is a mid 20th century industrial casting pattern, originally used in the foundry process.
Mounted onto a plywood board, the piece features a shaped raised pattern, finished in its original blue/green paint, with metal locating pins still in place. This would have been used to form the mould in sand casting, rather than being the mould itself.
The form has a really nice, clean mechanical look to it, likely relating to a pipe or structural component, and you can still see original workshop markings, including the hand-written “CROSS” to the surface.
A strong decorative object with a more minimal, almost sculptural feel compared to some of the more ornate patterns. Works well as a wall piece or displayed flat, and fits nicely into industrial or contemporary interiors.
