1950s Hand-Painted Jeweller’s Shop Sign

£800.00

A striking mid-20th-century painted shop sign, dating to the 1950s, designed in the distinctive form of a pocket watch.

The circular dial is hand-painted with Roman numerals and minute markers, centred with bold lettering reading “We Sell / We Buy – Rolex – Gold / Silver – Pawn Shop – Finest Repairs”, and finished with a crown motif. The upper finial and hanging ring further reinforce the pocket-watch silhouette, giving the piece both depth and strong graphic presence.

Originally intended for display within a jeweller’s, pawnbroker’s, or watch repair shop, likely hung behind the counter or in a window. It would now work beautifully as a statement wall object for a retail interior, collector’s space, or design-led setting.

We believe that the hand painted writing has been retouched over the years, making it more of a recent addition.
