1940s Highgate School Cupboard
A characterful early 20th century British school cupboard, dating to circa 1920s–1940s.
Constructed in stained Oak with a pine-lined interior, the cupboard has hand-painted signage to the doors reading “Highgate School & Office Sect. Use Only”, along with additional instructions relating to internal use.
The interior is fitted with a series of practical shelves, typical of utilitarian school furniture, designed for the storage of paperwork, stationery, or teaching materials.
The doors retain their original escutcheons and working locks, along with later handles. There is visible wear, scuffs, and marks throughout, all consistent with age and use, adding to its overall charm and character.
A highly decorative yet functional piece, ideal for retail, hospitality, or residential interiors seeking an authentic period feature. We believe that the hand painting has been touched up over years making it a newer addition .
