1920s Large Early 20th Century Painted Clock Face Display
A beautifully aged and visually striking large painted wooden clock face, dating from the early 20th century. This striking piece is inscribed with “J. Masters, London – Makers of Watches – Right on Time”, hand-painted lettering with bold Roman numerals and iron hands, all showing wonderful patina.
The face features a distressed cream ground with gilt-painted rim and inset black chapter ring, enhanced with carved and shadowed lettering. The surface wear and minor cracks, as seen around the gold edging, W e believe that the painting has been retouched over the years making it a later additional.
